First Fortnight Mental Health Arts Festivalsees live music, film, theatre, discussion, sport and arts events staged across the country to create open discussion and understanding of mental health problems, and challenge prejudice and discrimination.

Now in its 9thyear, First Fortnight is an arts-based mental health charity that organises a festival in the first two weeks of the year aimed at challenging stigma. First Fortnight has become a fixture in the cultural calendar and synonymous with mental health awareness, challenging prejudice and ending stigma.First Fortnight also runs aCentre for Creative Therapies, which provides an art psychotherapy and music therapy service to adults with experience of homelessness or at risk of homelessness.

Professor Green, Emmet Kirwan, Stefanie Preissner, Stephen James Smith, The Academic, Delorentos, Saint Sister, Emma Sheridan, Stephen Mullan, Joe Caslin, Fontaines DC, Joe Rooney, Spoken word artist Tony Walsh, Colm O’Regan, Barry Hyde (The Futureheads), Alan O’Mara (Real Talks Live), Nadine O’Regan (The Art Of Anxiety) are just some of the 100s of the people who have participated in the festival since its inception
